Release fabric with a sign-off

When cutting is ready to begin, materials are issued against the style’s Bill of Materials lines and signed off with a PIN. Every issue is logged with who released it — so the fabric that left the store is always accounted for against the order it was meant for.

Four stages, captured by line, every day

Production is recorded as daily output — quantity per line, per stage: cut, sew, finish, pack. It’s fast to enter and it’s the single source of “where’s this order.” The very first entry flips the style into in_production, so the status always reflects reality on the floor.

Where the pieces are

Follow pieces from cut to pack

As pieces move from one stage to the next, Flint records the movement — so you can see the work-in-progress sitting between cutting and sewing, or finishing and packing, not just the totals at each end. Cut pieces are logged by size, so the size break is right from the very first stage.

Start at the right time

Production can’t start until PP is approved

A style physically cannot enter production until its pre-production sample is approved — a hard gate, not a reminder. A founder can override it, but only with a recorded reason on the audit trail. It’s the control that stops a floor from cutting an unapproved style.

Packed output becomes a packing list

Finished lots go to end-line AQL inspection (in the Quality module), and packed quantities plus the order’s size ratio build the packing list for dispatch — cartons and all. Production doesn’t end in a spreadsheet; it flows straight into shipping.

Frequently asked questions

No. Output is entered as daily quantities per line and stage by your production lead. A mobile floor mode for workers isn’t part of the current version.

Not today. Production is captured at the line-and-stage level per day. There’s no operator-level tracking or efficiency percentage in the app, so the page doesn’t claim one.

Only a founder can, and only with a recorded reason. By default a style is locked out of production until its pre-production (PP) sample is approved.

Each style shows cumulative cut, sew, finish and pack quantities, plus the work-in-progress between stages — so you can read progress at a glance and spot a lagging order early.

No — it’s the floor stage of Garment OS, on the same records as your styles, materials, QC and dispatch. It comes with the Garment OS module.
